Settings connected to file handling and formats.
The saving format used in the function Show file. If you do not give a format, the program will ask for a format every time you use the function. Remember, that the name must be defined in format converter.
Saves a new file to disk immediately after the file has been edited or created (for example, in triangulation).
Saves backup copies of all modified files in the element list to backup directory. Saving interval is given in the adjacent field and backup file names are constructed from the file path. For example, temporary copy of the file c:\program files\3d-system\data\test.xyz is c—program files-3d-system-data-test.xyz.tmp.
If visible files in the element list contain less than this amount of points, screen is updated automatically after changes in some settings (e.g. point view, window settings, element list). Minimum value is 50000 points, but can be set higher.
Maximum point limit for undo store. When this point amount is reached, oldest edit operations are started to discard.
Clears undo store after any element list file saving.
Instead of just the file name, shows full path of the active file in window title bar.
The settings directory which the program uses to save settings and temporary files (calculation result files etc.). It is vital that the user has write permission for this directory. This is checked automatically when starting the program. Default is the 3D-Win directory under user's home directory (My Documents).
Arrow button opens directory in Windows file explorer and with Alt-key expands shortened directory path.
Settings directory common for all users. Used, for example, for common code and title files. In normal single user setup, this is same as user directory below.

Backup directory directory for automatic backups. By default subdirectory 3D-Win under system temporary directory is used. If this is in network, special setting TempDirectory can be used to move it to local disk for faster functionality.
If you have to restore file from the backup folder, open folder and drag file to the program. Save file then to original folder. Original folder name can be seen in file name, where equal sign (=) should be replaced with colon (:) and at sign (@) with backslash (\). For example, C=@temp@3D_tasauskäyrät.xy.tdw is C:\temp\3D_tasauskäyrät.xy.tdw.
