Cross section

Calculating a cross section by using an active reference line.

If the file element list has no terrain models (TM-file), cross sections are calculated using all vector files in the list. Lines wth surface code 9, are shown as single points. Other surface codes are drawn as surface, if surface has two points or more.

Left, Right

Left and right calculation limits from measurement line. Negative values will be to the left. If both values have the same sign, you will only get the left or right side of the reference line. If the left limit is greater than the right limit, the calculation is done from right to left. If both given values are same, the left value is negated.

The checkbox between fields links them together: changing one value automatically changes the other.

All surfaces

The cross section will be calculated from all the models in use. The result will be one cross section file. Some functions (like road construction) need to have all cross sections in one file. Separate surfaces can be joined later with the join-function from the element selection dialog.

New window

If this checkbox is crossed, a new cross section window will be opened and the cross section is added to the element list of that window. Otherwise the new cross section file is added to element list of the main window. Cross sections have to be in main window’s element list if they are to be used in road construction.

Remove unnecessary points.

Removes cross section points who are on the same straight line and have no code or line number.

Road height symbol

Adds height symbols from the measurement line and element list road alignments to every cross section.

Measurement line surface, Surface, dZ

Creates constant level surface with given code and height difference from the measurement line to all cross sections. Surface is not created, if other surface with the same code already exists. The width of the surface is determined by calculation limits.
