The 3D-Win program has been designed to perform all types of terrain measuring tasks.
The main functions of the program are:
The information format from the data logger must be changed before it can be read by the 3D-Win program. After format changing you can perform all tasks e.g. code changing, coordinate calculations of observations and so on. The handling of this information may include special functions required by clients.
The data checking and editing is done with the 3D-Win program. The program checks that all codes are correct, it will give a warning about ‘same points’, and finds all lines which cut etc. All the edits are three dimensional. Terrain model (even local), cross sections and profiles may be used when editing data files. You can also use Raster files as background pictures. Different day, and different measuring group work, can be handled and put in memory separately during the whole edit. Because we are operating in a Windows environment there are no memory limits.
You can print data on all equipment that accepts the Windows environment. Paper size, printing scale and layout is easily controlled. You can also print more than one picture on the same sheet.
There are versatile but easy to use calculation functions, this function can handle more data than some older equivalents. You can decide how the calculations are conducted, what values are displayed on screen and which are to be shown in the result file.
For both GPS and total stations; when in the terrain you can use a touch screen micro pen designed for field use. This is connected to the measuring equipment in ‘real time’. Results are shown immediately and you may edit or use other calculation functions in the terrain.
Application can create terrain models and calculate contour lines, cross sections and profiles from them. Volume calculation can be done either from cross sections or directly between models.
Both horizontal and vertical road alignments can be created, edited and transferred to different formats. Calculation parameters are used to create road cross sections, which can be used in field or for volume calculation.
Sounding information entering, editing and diagrams painting either seprately or as a part of profile pictures.
Collecting attribute data and using that information in a GIS system is very important part in terrain measuring. Using 3D-Win program you can read many types of attribute data, you can edit or replace given values and send/receive information to/from a GIS system.
